The task is to consider 2 internet providers and determine which is the better option. We are given a internet service which we have to compare a new provider with.

ObservationsAs the globe struggled with the COVID-19 epidemic, internet speeds have grown in importance. With more individuals working from home, streaming video, and utilising the internet for education, there has never been a greater need for dependable, fast internet. An additional 782 million people came online in just two years since 2019 (un.org 2021)

Observations show that the number of users, the amount of data being transferred, the technology, and the time may all have an impact on download speeds. In big networks such as buildings, public places, and schools. Thus, we can say that internet speed is dependent upon a number of factors.

AssumptionsInternet speed is not constant, our assumption will be that these internet speeds are for residential purposes as residential Internet speeds are strong due to the availability of high-speed broadband connections such as fibre optics, cable, and DSL. These connections enable rapid download and upload rates, allowing users to stream movies, play online games, and download huge files swiftly and efficiently. Furthermore, many ISPs provide discounts and promotions to residential consumers, making high-speed internet more accessible.

Mathematical Concepts and Techniques

For model 1 we are using the trapezoidal method

And then for approx. answer to get the more accurate answer we are refining it by using integration and differentiation and functions.

To calculate the area the following equation was used:

A domain was set for each phase using the function FUNCTION on GeoGebra

The area under the curve for each phase was found using the INTEGRAL function.

A table was displayed showing each phase and their areas.

The amount of time it would take to download a 2-gigabyte file was found using the formulas: average speed=sum of all integralstime and Time taken to download 2GB=File sizeDownload time per secondThe scatter plotted points in the excel file below were scatter plotted into GeoGebra.
