3D Augmented Reality application

Purpose:

You will create an argument Reality application. You may use any plateform you wish. (Android CoreAR, Apple ARKit or a 3rd party solution such as unity). You might be able to use your ideas from last week’s forum post as the premise of te application.

Preparatory:

There are significant requirements for devices for their project. Understanding that you may not have the hardware available. You are only required to get your application running in an emulator environment. You may of course build for a device if you have one that meets the requirements for the AR plateforrm you choose. I recommand and will provide a video and information for using Google’s Ar Core. You can also use Ar Core, which has been around longer.

Similarly, if you have been working with iOS up until this point. I recommand using ScreneKit for ARKit(https://developer.apple.com/documentation/sceneKit https://developer.apple.com/arkit/). While I will not have a comprehensive video for Apple most of the issues and idiosyncrasies of Android do not carry over because of the nature of the platform. And phone support is much more broad (iPhone 6s and newer supported). You should be able to follow the provided apple documentation to get started.

Requirements:

There are 2 major pieces for thus project

1. Successfully create and deploy a 3D Augmented Reality application to an emulator or device (see video,completing all the steps there satisfies this requirement).

2. Create a simple but interesting virtual reality application that can :

1. Place and manipulate 3D models
2. Interact with 3D models OR share AR experiences between devices Bonus if it does both!

Example for application that satisfy requirement 2 include:

1. An application that randomly places 1 or more 3D models in the environment that the user can shoot down with a projectile.
2. An application that has a virtual puppy that will run after and retrieve a virtual stick
3. An application with lemmings that appear everywhere in the environment wandering around and bumping into each other.
4. An application that allows user A to place a model in the environment and another user to see the model on there own device(shared AR)
