Configure, verify, and troubleshoot WAN links and IP services Assessment

For this assessment for the ICTNWK541 unit you will be building a portfolio of network skills. You will start with an unconfigured portfolio file with your name embedded in the file. For each portfolio assessment task, you will be given a set of activities to achieve in your portfolio file. At the end of each assessment task, you will upload your modified file to the LMS for your teacher to check. If you missed something, you will be given a second chance to fix things up, but you must work on the file as it was submitted on the LMS.

Here are the sort of high-level tasks that you will accomplish in your portfolio file by the end of term:

· HDLC and PPP across WAN links

· Access control lists (ACLs) to implement network security policies

· A DHCP service on a router in your LAN · NAT functionality in your LAN’s connection to the ISP

· A virtual private network (VPN) between your LAN and a remote worker

You will receive individualised instructions for each assessment, e.g. IP addresses will be different, and security policies will be different. So by the end of term you will have a portfolio file which is unique to you. You can then take this file to potential employers and show them the networking skills that you have acquired in your Diploma.
