This document is for both internal and external students, all work is done individually. Your task is to complete several web pages to add data and view the different bird reports of our David’s Birdwatching Database. Do not leave this to the last minute as it is not possible to finish the project without prior thought to the implementation.  Writing queries is one thing but implementing SQL with programming logic in @Razor and HTML does require serious thought to get the desired functionality!

Task

• A web application containing the necessary database and MVC Views has already been created for you. This can be downloaded from the assessments tab on the course website. 
• Views/Home/AddBirdEntry.cshtml
• Views/Home/Index.cshtml
• Views/Home/Details.cshtml
• Start by working on the AddBirdEntry page and getting the data to save into our database. You will need to determine the best layout to present the form to our website users and ensure you implement HTML Validation to reduce errors. Once this is working, start implementing the other pages.
• This page you should contain the Rare Bird Report form.
• It needs to have bootstrap styled input elements with appropriate labels
• All input types and validation properties should be chosen so that the incoming data matches the data restrictions imposed by the database (varchar size, data type, not null etc).
• To keep it simple, there is no need to implement Drop Down Lists populated by SQL queries from tables. If you want to use a Drop Down List, just hard code several option values for now.
• A submit button – This should trigger saving of the data into the database.
• On successful save, the page should navigate back to the Index.
• For bonus marks, instead of navigating to the Index, see if you can navigate to the Details page to show the newly selected record Index Page
• This page should show all the reports made (You will need to create a couple yourself first) either by completing the AddBirdEntry page or by manually entering the data into the database table.
• Put each report into a row of a table, displaying only critical identifying attributes of the report
• For example – Species, location, date etc.
• Format the date using one of the ToString(“D”) format optionsEach row should have a button to click on that opens the details page
• A create new button – on the page that opens a fresh Add Bird Entry Page
