Write a paper describing how you would use the content covered in lectures and any additional content you see as appropriate to plan and implement an inclusive learning and teaching program in a domain such as literacy or numeracy.

Your report should examine how the content covered and your additional reading could assist you to

1. decide the aspects of existing knowledge that you may need to teach, that is, how to differentiate the curriculum to match an exceptional student’s existing knowledge. Thisrefers to the ‘what’ of your teaching.

2. decide how to teach the student, that is, how to differentiate the teaching to match how the student learns. This refers to the ‘how’ of your teaching.

3. enhance explicitly the student’s capacity to learn, to manage their learning and to ‘self-include’.

4. Implement a positive learning climate and culture. This includes monitoring the formative assessment procedures you will use to monitor the student’s progress and the effectiveness of the teaching and modify it necessary.
