Aim: This aim of this assignment is for you to demonstrate your ability to complete and present the findings of a focussed patient history and physical assessment relevant to your clinical specialization. The advanced practice nurse engages regularly in focused health assessment and critically interprets the findings to determine health priorities for the patient. Therefore, completing this assessment task will assist you to develop your advanced practice health assessment skills and present your findings in a recorded oral presentation. The assignment also assists you to develop your ability to promote the professional development of your peers through your completion of constructive reviews of two peer presentations.
TaskDescription:
For this task, you need to conduct a focused patient history and physical examination with a consenting patient. Present your findings in a recorded oral presentation of no longer than 12 minutes duration. You will ALSOreview and provide constructive feedback on two (2) presentations developed by your peers.
Instructions:
- First, select a consenting patient from your advanced practice nurse specialization area toconduct a health history and physical examination, then
- Critically analyze and synthesise the focussed assessment findings and data to identify and justify health priorities for your patient
- Develop a 12-minute oral presentation of the findings from your completed focused health history and physical examination using any software that is supported by Learning@Griffith. Some examples include a recorded PowerPoint presentation, recorded video, and Camtasia.
- Review two oral presentations developed by your peers and provide constructive feedback on their presentations via Discussion Board. Post your oral presentation for marking and review
