C768/D339 Task 1 Template

Section A: Describe Your Organization

Henry Ford is widely regarded as a major figure in the development of the automobile. Ford celebrated 150 on July 30, 2013, and to celebrate, the original Ford Motor Company automobile, built in 1903, has been brought back to the company's headquarters in Dearborn after being entirely repaired. This 109-year-old automobile has a tale to tell about its inventor. Even though Henry Ford debuted the Model A in 1903, it was not his first automobile. Already created in 1896 and dubbed the "Quadricycle" from its distinctive four wheels, this was the brainchild of the son of a prosperous farmer and technical autodidact. Before Model Ts and the Ford Model T, Henry Ford was an unsuccessful entrepreneur. In 1903 he established the Ford Motor Company with an initial investment of $28,000. The design had an eight horsepower, two-cylinder boxer engine. The cost to own the two-seater automobile was $750 back in 1909. The extra $100 was required for the four-seater.

A1: Products and Services

Ford continued to create new models until 1908, when he had a monumental breakthrough in automotive design. The Ford "Model T," or "Tin Lizzy" as it was known by his devoted following, went on to become the world's best-selling automobile. Not until the Volkswagen Beetle came up in 1972 did the Ford T lose its place at the top. Ford's primary design goal while creating the Estate was to make it as user-friendly as possible.

A2: Size and Locations

The Ford A was so popular that Henry Ford was able to quickly expand his business, producing 1,750 cars in only two years. The chassis number 3 is on the earliest surviving vehicle of the brand. Henry Ford was a marketing genius with an uncanny ability to anticipate and meet the needs of his clientele. He also had a knack for attracting and retaining talented individuals to work on product development.

A3: Organization’s Industry

The automobile was simple in its construction, functioning, and upkeep. Every well-organized hardware shop stocked a full inventory of replacement and maintenance items. The Ford T provided an adult automobile at an unheard-of low price. One that, for the first time, opened up automobile ownership to those in the middle class and below. Industrial manufacturing in the early 20th century lacked the necessary technology to produce anything as sophisticated as an automobile. So Ford shifted its focus to other markets. The Chicago slaughterhouses provided Henry Ford with the game-changing insight he needed.

Section B: Research Summary

Dadam, S.R., Jentz, R. and Meissner, H., 2020. Diagnostic evaluation of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system on gasoline electric hybrid vehicle (No. 2020-01-0902). SAE Technical Paper.

When thinking about how to build a more sustainable future, sustainable transportation is a crucial subject to keep in mind. The United States Environmental Protection Agency defines sustainability as "the practice of establishing and maintaining situations in which people and the natural world may live in productive harmony for the benefit of current and future generations." We are now living through the devastating effects of climate change. Climate change is inevitable, but human activities have accelerated the rate at which it occurs.

Kapustin, N.O. and Grushevenko, D.A., 2020. Long-term electric vehicles outlook and their potential impact on electric grid. Energy Policy137, p.111103.

Dangerous events, such as rising sea levels, more intense storms, and increased risk of wildfires, are being exacerbated by climate change. The time has come for everyone of us to accept responsibility for our actions and adopt more environmentally friendly habits. Changing to a greener form of transportation is one option. Every year, the typical passenger vehicle releases 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide into the air.

There will be a great deal more carbon dioxide in the air, hastening the process of global warming. Many automakers across the globe have begun offering hybrid and electric car lines in response to this problem. Tesla is a leader in the electric car industry, and most people have heard of them. In this article, I'll discuss how a more mainstream automaker has started to convert its vehicles, and how this helps promote sustainable mobility.

Section C: The White Paper

Ford Motor Company, located in Dearborn, is the sixth biggest automaker in the world in terms of sales (2020) and the second largest in the United States. Founded in 1903, the firm, which made history with the introduction of assembly line manufacturing in 1913, is today experiencing a tremendous shift towards electromobility. In particular, the F-150 Lightning electric pickup and the Mustang Mach-E are experiencing great demand and has spurred the Group to announce intentions to boost up manufacturing capabilities. Despite the worldwide semiconductor crisis, Ford was able to beat market expectations in the presentation of the latest quarterly numbers and surprise with an increase in its profit goals for the whole year.

The Ford share (WKN: 502 391) shows exceptional strength. Since the beginning of 2021 (as of December 14, 2021), the paper has already expanded by 128 percent. By contrast, the market-wide S&P 500 gained 24 percent during the same time. Tesla shares have climbed 36 percent since then. Looking at the long-term chart scenario, Ford's share had set a decade-low of $3.96 in March 2020 following a long-running bear market. Based on this, it is in a robust bull market. This increasing tendency underwent a substantial increase from September 2021. As part of this price increase, the quote was able to exceed the extremely long-term negative trend line, beginning from the high of 2011, and therefore provide a strategic buy signal.
