ENGR6011 Mechanics of Solids and Numerical Methods Assessment

A report documenting important results and discussions should be submitted along with the relevant MATLAB (.m script files) codes. Sections 1 to 5 should be demonstrated in the MATLAB code, Section 6 should be demonstrated in the submission report.

1. Input the geometry and material properties for members (10 points)
2. Development member and assembled stiffness matrices for the structure (30 points)
3. Assign boundary conditions to the structure (10 points)
4. Solve for relevant displacements (15 points)
5. Calculate the forces in each member of the structure (15 points)
6. In the Result and Discussion section of your submission report, discuss the displacements at the joints and forces in each member wherever relevant (20 points)
