MIT123 Usability Evaluation and Improvement Recommendations
- Subject Code :
MIT123
Overview:
In this assessment, you will conduct a usability evaluation of a real-world system using both qualitative and quantitative metrics. You will identify the key usability issues in the system and recommend improvements based on your evaluation.
Instructions:
- Choose a real-world system to evaluate. This could be a website, mobile app, software application, or any other digital system.
- Conduct a heuristic evaluation of the system using Nielsen's 10 usability heuristics or any other relevant framework.
- Develop a usability test plan that includes tasks, scenarios, and metrics. Choose at least three tasks that users would typically perform in the system and design scenarios that reflect these tasks.
- Conduct a usability test with at least five participants. Collect both qualitative and quantitative data on their performance, satisfaction, and usability issues.
- Analyse the data and identify the key usability issues in the system. Use the data to support your findings and recommendations.
- Write a report that summarizes your findings and recommendations for improving the system's usability. Include a description of the methods you used to evaluate the system, a summary of the key findings, and recommendations for addressing the identified issues.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Quality of the usability test plan, including the tasks, scenarios, and metrics.
- Ability to identify and articulate key usability issues in the system.
- Quality of the recommendations for improving the system's usability.
- Use of relevant qualitative and quantitative data to support findings and recommendations.
- Clarity, organization, and coherence of the report.
