  1. Using Matlab/Simulink, implement a three-phase, phase-controlled DC motor drive. Themotor is a preset model 23 with given parameters as follows: 250 HP, 500 V, 1750 rpm, field: 300

For synchronization use a three-phase phase-locked loop (PLL) block. For generating the firing pulses use a pulse generator block for a 6-pulse thyristor converter.

As part of your implementation do the following:

  • Selecta suitable input voltage, and select the minimum value of firing angle to avoid applying a voltage higher than rated voltage to the armature winding of the
  • Determinethe no-load speed of the motor when rated voltage is applied.
  • Apply rated load torque to the motor and determine the firing angle that gives half of thespeed in part (b).
  • Determinethe frequency spectrum of the input current in phase-a (use the inbuilt FFT function in the powergui).
  1. Using Matlab/ Simulink implement a 12-pulse phase-controlled DC motor drive using thesame motor as in question

Repeat parts (a), (b), (c) and (d) and comment on the differences between the two drives.
