PART 1
Design of a hydraulic bending machine
1. Technical Report A ( drafting and report )
The Pictorial diagram below shows the system of a hydraulic bending machine used in a production line .
A - It is required to bend the work ( grey material in table ) in an angular form by using theHydraulic system shown below.Draw the appropriate schematic symbolic diagram to make your systemwork at best. Label all your components.
B- In a table, list the names of components used in your layout by referring to their labelin the layout
C Make a technical report describing how your system work and why you have selected your specific components.
Report requirements for Part I (A,B & C ):
- Draw the appropriate system layout using the appropriate components symbols that makes your system operates at best .
- The symbolic Layout can be drawn using computer design tool or drawn by hand using ruler to be scanned and inserted as an image in the document. Your name and ID should appear in the
- Make a table and list the name of the components
- Make a report using office word as specified in the assignment format on the front page describe how your system and explain in details why you have selected your specific components and justify why you have not selected other available components in order to make your system work at best.
PART 2
Design of a shearing machine
Technical Report B ( drafting and report )
The shearing machine below in operated by a pneumatic system Given :
A and B are double acting pneumatic cylinders with cushion at the ends connected to table 2
-They should operate at the same time .
- They should operate when two 4/3 n.c lever spring return pneumatic directional control valves are operated at the same time ( for safety reason )
- The return stroke ( upstroke should be quick return )
C and D are double acting pneumatic cylinders with cushions at the ends connected totable 1
- They should move at the same time
- The speed for the upstroke and down stroke should controlled
- They should be operated with one 4/3 n.c solenoid spring return pneumatic directional controlvalve .
A - It is required to make a shearing machine by using the specifications above.Draw the appropriate schematic symbolic diagram to make your systemwork at best. Label all your components.
B- In a table, list the names of components used in your layout by referring to their labelin the layout .
C Make a technical report describing how your system works
Report requirements for Part 2 (A , B &C )
- Draw the appropriate system layout using the appropriate components symbols that makes your system to operate at best .
- The symbolic Layout can be drawn using computer design tool or drawn by hand using ruler and be scanned and inserted as an image in the Your name and ID should appear in the image.
- Make a table and list the name of the components used by referring to their label in layout .

PART 3
Technical Report C ( drafting and report )Design of an Excavator Hydraulic system
The diagram shown above shows an exactor hydraulic system. It is desired to design the hydraulic layout of the system
The components are 1- Boom cylinders 2 of them operating at the same time
2- Arm cylinder 1 operating can be operated independently 3 - Bucket cylinder operates independently
- Undercarriage uses 4 variable bidirectional hydraulic motors ( left side motors operates at the same time and right side motors operate at the same time ,
- The upper structure ( cab) uses a bidirectional motor to rotate clock wise or counter clock
- All the cylinders and motors are speed regulated in both directions and can be stopped at any position
It desired to use lever operated directional control valves ( the type of valves is to designed by the student ( all the working layouts will be considered correct)
- Draw the complete hydraulic circuit of the system [7]
- Explain how it works [3]
Report requirements for Part 3 : = 10 marks/30 or 5/15 )
- Draw the appropriate system layout using the appropriate components symbols that makes your system to operate at best .
- The symbolic Layout can be drawn using computer design tool or drawn by hand using ruler and bescanned and inserted as an image in the document. Your name and ID should appear in the image.
- Make a report using office word as specified in the assignment format on the front page describe how your system and explain in details why you have selected your specific components and justify why you have not selected other available components in order to make your system work at
