LO1- Appraise how lifestyle choice and wider determinants of health impacts upon health and wellbeing.
LO2- Demonstrate a range of theoretical concepts and frameworks used to promote and protect health and prevent ill health.
LO3- Identify inter-agency involvement in shared decision making in promoting and protecting health across a range of settings.
The Summative Assignment requires: An Infographic, a structured abstract and a reference list to be submitted as one piece of work.
Infographic:
Demonstrate your learning across all learning outcomes by creating an Infographic for a chosen health topic accompanied by oral or written abstract.
It would be beneficial for your Infographic to include:
An informative title
Evidence-based information, which relates to your selected health topic and the population that is affected.
Relevant (copywrite free) images to support your evidence-based information/ findings.
Evidence of statistical data to support your evidence-based information related to your health topic, using; charts/ graphs/ tables.
Information on how lifestyle choices may impact upon health and wellbeing related to your chosen health topic, and support positive behavioural change.
Recognition of wider determinants, which may impact on preventing ill-health/ promoting health and well-being.
Consideration of inter-agency involvement relevant to your health topic area.
Adherence to health literacy guidelines is recommended.
Structured Abstract (suggested wordage 150-200 words):
The accompanying abstract (oral or written) is required to elaborate on points of relevance raised in your Infographic. Headings may be used to structure your abstract, and the following structure is suggested:
Informative Title (as detailed on your Infographic)
An eye catching but relevant title that is clear and concise.
Background:
To provide a short summary of the reason for selecting your health topic (i.e. what are the evidence based drivers for looking at this?)
Aims/Purpose
What will the reader expect to learn from your Infographic (i.e. what is its intended outcome?)
Findings:
Summarise key results emerging from your infographic, including the significance of evidence-based findings.
Conclusion
Finalise with key messages, emerging from the content of your Infographic, and link to your chosen topic, including any health recommendations.
Please note:
Your 500 words (+10%) includes text in your Infographic and your abstract. The wordage includes headings, and so your information needs to be clear and concise.
Reference List
A single reference list is required that covers citations for both the Infographic and the abstract for this submission. Please use the Harvard Referencing System for your reference list.
