Case Study: Social movements, social change, and social inequality
CASE STUDY QUESTION: What does the contemporary rise in social justice movements/activism reveal about the enduring nature of social inequality in Australia?
In Australia and worldwide we have seen a variety of social justice movements and social justice actions emerge in response to local and global social inequality. Over the past year, we have witnessed campaigns against wage inequality, campaigns for Indigenous sovereignty and an Indigenous Voice to Parliament, as well as a variety of gender equality campaigns.
Yet, all these movements and campaigns have emerged in response to longstanding structural inequality.
