Overview of Assessment The aim of this assessment is to assess your practical knowledge and skills in:
Preparing to make sketches and drawings
Creating simple sketches and drawings
Notating and processing drawings
Task to be Assessed This assessment is made up of Four (4) Parts:
Part 1 Confirm construction plan complies with building and construction regulations, standards, and codes
Part 2 Prepare to make sketches and drawings
Part 3 Produce Sketches of Structural and Non-structural Components of the Building Fabric
Part 4 Produce Drawings of Structural and Non-structural Components of the Building Fabric
Time Allowed You must submit this assessment by the due date which is published on Learn. Submissions may be sent earlier than stated due dates.
Location of Assessment Assessment outlines and resources will be available via LEARN (online classroom) and you will work in a simulated workplace environment on or off campus.
A simulated workplace environment may consist of, but not be limited to an area of a commercial or residential room which may contain:
Workstation set to an appropriate ergonomic height and accompanying chair
Desk top computer or laptop
Reliable internet access
Landline telephone or mobile phone
Appropriate lighting

Decision Making Rules To achieve a Satisfactory outcome, you must satisfy all assessment criteria and evidence requirements as stated in the assessment instructions.
Application for Extension
No late submissions will be accepted without prior Application for Extension form filled out before the due date, with new completion date and time with written Lecturer approval.

Assessment Conditions This assessment is unsupervised. It may be conducted in a simulated workplace environment (in a classroom on campus) or in a blended environment (online) via Learn.
You are required to work independently on this assessment.
You are encouraged to contact your Lecturer if you encounter any access issues or if you are unsure of written directions.
Your Lecturer may clarify questions or help with interpretation and cannot provide answers. Your Lecturer may also aid with contextualising terminology and definitions if needed.
All work submitted must be your own work.

Result Notification and Reassessment Information Your Lecturer will mark your submission within two (2) weeks of you submitting your answers to the questions. You will receive your feedback and your result via Learn.
Feedback is to be given whether the submission is Satisfactory or not and will outline what result you have achieved and what responses to the questions, if any, need improvement.
To receive a Satisfactory outcome for this assessment you must have submitted your assessment before your given due date.
Reassessment or re submission information will be provided by your assessor and will be required to be addressed within two (2) weeks after receiving feedback.
If your assessment is deemed Unsatisfactory you are allowed one (1) re-submission.
