Assignment 3500 words : Conduct an interview with someone whom you consider to be a leader. Remember, a leader is not always a person in a formal position of authority. The interview should focus on the leadership style, practices, and beliefs of the leader you are interviewing. Summarise your interview, linking your findings to theories that we read about and discussed in class, in a 2,500 word report. Be sure you analyse your findings in light of the theories; in other words, do not simply report what your leader said, but interpret and critique what the leader said with regard to theories and concepts. Your report should also include a reflection on the interview, focusing on how the interview influenced your perception of leadership.

Note: (do not use or write on prominent figures). Also you will be conducting an interview hence the person has to be within your reach.

STRUCTURE OF ASSIGNMENT

SECTION 1 - Description of leader selection (around 700 words)

Reasons for selection.

Profile of leader: Specific characteristics / attributes of this leader.

When and where interview carried out. list down questions you used during the interview, and why were those questions used, their reference. This is required to set the tone of the assignment next sections.

SECTION 2 - Relate the leadership theories/ approaches and philosophy adopted by this leader. (major part of assignment around 1500 words)

2.1 Ask your leader what kind of challenges they have encountered in previous years.

Were they adaptive challenge ete etc explain about the challenge (brief write up)

2.2 which approach used to tackle the challenge (brief write up)

2.3 Indicate why he/she has decided to use this approach(es) in managing the identified challenge(s). (detailed write up)

2.4 Analyse the leadership approach(es) and relate them to the leadership concepts and theories learned. (detailed write up)

2.5 Write about leadership personality (using the Ant, wolf, hen, cow theory which one he/she is)

SECTION 3 - Summarise the essence of the leadership interview and key learning points. (around 700 words)

3.1 Based on the questions asked and relate the content with possible leadership implications.

SECTION 4 - Provide a personal leadership reflection. (500-700 words)

4.1 Indicate how this interview influenced your perception of leadership (in general, of marginalised groups and/or of your leadership).

4.2 Indicate any possible recommendations to enhance your leadership approach(es).

Note

you can use a person you know who has been in a leadership role. If the person does not want to be named it ok, but then specify he does not want to be named however mention about his role , industry sector etc etc .

All in text reference and reference should be APA Style, and must include link to access

70-80% of reference should be Journals and must include a valid DOI link

All links of reference should be free (not a paid version)
