Assignment requirements Part 1 Research Paper (with conference abstract):

Select a contemporary issue in the leisure industries and develop a 2,500-word conference paper (with a 250- word abstract) discussing and debating this issue. The paper will require a clear structure and evidence of considerable engagement with relevant literature and contemporary research to develop an informed and incisive discussion. The paper will not necessarily make recommendations but will be expected to develop a logical argument and a clear conclusion which may raise further questions or suggest a particular perspective on the selected issue.

Research Paper and presentation to be submitted to the 5LI021 Canvas topic

Part 2 Conference Presentation:

Students will prepare and deliver a 10-minute presentation which will cover the key discussions and findings from their conference paper. The presentation will be followed by 5 minutes of questions about the paper. Please note that you will not be required to present in the presence of other students, only to your tutor/s.

You will be provided with a specific time slot for your presentation closer to the time.

(Marks will be amalgamated from the two assessments, with a weighting of 75% for the paper and 25% for the presentation)
