INSTRUCTIONS: This unit introduces students to the field of information technology. It provides both theoretical knowledge and practical application of basic aspects of information technology and their relevance to 21st century business operations.

The unit starts on a global scale in the e-world of the Internet before visiting the micro-world of computer hardware, operating systems, and software tools for productivity, creativity, and information processing.

The unit explores networking and communication systems before looking at database technology and the design and management of business information systems.

The unit concludes with a discussion of current issues and trends in information technology.

This Assessment 4 is an individual assessment, where each student will contribute to the visual/verbal presentation and submit a presentation and recorded material directly into Moodle. The details of how to prepare the submission appear below.

In assessment 4 you need to prepare at least 10 slides on any topic in EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES covered in the unit to demonstrate the understanding of key concepts. Once you complete the slides, you need to record your presentation and upload the presentation and video file to Moodle. You can do voice over PPT, or use any other software for the video production, e.g. MovieMaker for PC or iMovie for Apple etc.

There are many free editing apps (available via the internet) that you can use in the production of your video, e.g., MovieMaker for PC or iMovie for Apple.
