Task Description

Student Instructions:

This task requires you to complete a three (3) part research project to demonstrate your ability to apply the knowledge of people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, compare to own cultural and social group and document findings.

Part A: Research Cultural and Social Groups you will demonstrate your ability to apply the knowledge of people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, by undertaking in-depth research into one (1) different cultural or social group, comparing these to your own cultural or social group and document the findings in a report.

Part B: Research Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Peoples by demonstrating your ability to apply the knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples by undertaking in-depth research into the cultural, social, political, economic, and mental and physical wellbeing and the influence of western systems on their culture and document the findings in a report.

Part C: Research Diversity in the workplace by demonstrating your ability to apply the knowledge of people from diverse cultures by undertaking in-depth research into rights and responsibilities of diverse groups and diversity in their workplace and document the findings in a report.

This task requires you to prepare an information brochure on maintaining a healthy body for either:

Older persons OR people with a disability

Resources required:

Access to a computer and the Internet

Access to eBooks and Power Point presentations from this unit of study

Access to a printer (if using a computer to create your brochure)

Paper, pens etc (if drawing/writing your brochure)

Your brochure must be two A4 pages long. You may like to add pictures and diagrams to make it more engaging and interesting, and to help your target audience understand the information you are providing.

Your brochure must include the following sections:

Diet:

Emotional wellbeing:

List five (5) common causes of wellbeing issues in older people or people with a disability

Briefly explain the effect of emotional and psychological problems on the healthy functioning of the major body systems (provide three (3) examples)
