Assessment Brief T1 2023-2024
This module is assessed by:
1) Case Study (100%) - 3,500 words. DEADLINE: FRIDAY 2ND FEBRUARY 2024
Assessment Details:
Organisation Case Study
Students will evaluate the strategic challenges facing their own organisation as a case study, addressing the organisations current situation and possible future directions. The analysis of the case may cover from one to all three of the following areas, depending on organisational priorities:
(1) an assessment of the current situation, drawing on internal and external environmental dimensions
(2) a review of strategic options/directions for development over the medium term
(3) a guide for supporting development and implementation of a particular option(s)/direction(s)
Individual circumstances may dictate different areas of emphasis between cases. Your case study should be written for the intelligent, non-specialised reader.
The case study should be delivered as a formal, objective assessment, presented in the third person. If desired, evaluative sections presenting first person views on challenges and options may also be included, these should be identified clearly.
Charts, diagrams and figures may all be used wherever appropriate to the points being made.
Appendices may be used to provide supplementary material if desired (outside the wordcount).
In some circumstances it may be possible to select a case study which is not your current organisation, if you wish to consider this please discuss this with the module coordinator.
