There are four main facets to this assessment.  

i) writing on the discussion board from the first four weeks (original posts, or critical responses), 

ii) selecting your strongest contributions to the class discussion board and  

iii) critiquing and editing your own contributions and  

iv) and self-reflective summary. 

1. A suggested title is ‘How are businesses adapting their management practices in response to societal changes? An  exploration and evaluation of (insert the New Trend you have selected here)’. 
2. This is a suggested title that you can adapt or use a different title if you prefer 
3. It is recommended that you select a pertinent topic that relates to your chosen career path/roles you are interested  in 
4. The recommended word count is 2,000 words for the discussion board contributions and critique thereof followed  by a 1,000-word self-reflective summary 
5. The total word count is 3,000 words (+/- 10% only) 
6. Academic referencing is required using the BSU Harvard format 
7. Set out your topic, how new it is, how it is a new trend, and how it fits into management practice. It is highly  recommended that this is supported by broad and credible sources (academic and industry).

Your work will be assessed on the extent to which it demonstrates your achievement of the stated learning outcomes for  this assignment (see above) and against other key criteria, as defined in the University’s institutional grading descriptors. If it is appropriate to the format of your assignment and your subject area, a proportion of your marks will also depend  upon your use of academic referencing conventions.
