Completing your assessment

Submitting your assessment



  1. Upload your assessment into the Assessment submission area with any additional evidence required. Ensure you press send for marking to submit your work. Ensure that you write a minimum of 6 - 8 sentences when a written answer is required.
  2. When you have been notified that your assessment is marked go to the Recent Results tab for your unit on the Student Home Page. If you need to make any changes to your assessment, please do so and resubmit under the Assessment toggle.

Assessment Requirements



  1. Complete ALL assessment tasks, projects and questions to a Satisfactory standard, ensuring that you provide enough evidence for your Assessor to prove that you are competent in the unit.
  2. Complete this Assessment which involves research and other activities that will make sure you have the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate that you are competent in this unit.
  3. Each assessment task is designed to assess your understanding and skills of the unit.
  4. Sometimes activities may be available that will help you understand the whys and the hows - the theories and techniques - and to enrich your skills so that they are transferable to other situations.
  5. If you do NOT complete some sections of a task or provide enough details etc., your evidence will be deemed Not Satisfactory, meaning that more evidence is required.
  6. Your Assessor will then ask you to provide More Evidence, so that you can resubmit your assessment or ask you some further questions. You are allowed to resubmit your assessment evidence up to 3 times before you are deemed Not Yet Competent for the unit. Please refer to Global Training Institute Handbook, found on our website, for more details.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and monitor the implementation of operational plans to support efficient and effective workplace practices and organisational productivity and profitability.


The unit applies to individuals who manage the work of others and operate within the parameters of a broader strategic and/or business plans.


In order to successfully complete this unit, you will need to refer to a broader business plan for your organisation or a case study. Alternatively, you may use an Operational Plan from a previous year to develop new goals. Discuss the options with your trainer before you begin.


Task 61 - Establish operational plan

You have been promoted to department head in your organisation OR a case study, as discussed with your trainer.

One of the first priorities of your new role is to update the existing Operational Plan. Initially you are required to research, analyse and document the information that needs to go in to the Plan.

You will be required to speak with the relevant stakeholders and seek approval to document in the table below:



  • 1 The objectives, strategies and tasks that are to be undertaken in your department.

  • 2 The resources that are required to complete the tasks

  • 3 The staff that have the responsibility of each of the tasks.

  • 4 The timelines in which the strategies and tasks must be completed

  • 5 The amount of financial resources required to complete each strategy/task.

Your CEO has warned that there may be a chance that your proposed strategies may not go as planned and to detect trigger points that indicate the existing plan is no longer desirable.

You now have the bones of an Operational Plan in the tables above. You are required to use this information and develop an operational plan for your department in consultation and approval of relevant stakeholders.

T61.8 Ensure that you include:



  • 8.1 Resource requirements

  • 8.2 Evidence of consultation with internal and external stakeholders

  • 8.3 Evidence of approval from relevant stakeholders

  • 8.4 Contingency plans

  • 8.5 Key performance indicators to measure organisational performance and milestones



Other useful information to include in the operational plan would be deadlines, milestones, budgets, accountabilities, and anything else that will simplify understanding for relevant stakeholders.

You have been requested to explain the Operational Plan to relevant work teams in your department. You are required to develop a presentation of your choice and deliver the plan either live or by Zoom. Your CEO will be out of town at the time of the presentation and has requested you to:

T61.9 Provide a recording of your presentation.

If you are unable to undertake this activity in the workplace, you may need to set up a meeting with family members to create your recording. Evidence of other attendees will need to be shown.

The operational plan has indicated that there is a need to grow the human resource base to implement a number of projects that have been planned for your department OR a case study, as discussed with your trainer,

If you do not have current practice standards and procedures in place, you will need to do some research to provide information and examples

Task 63 Monitor and review operational performance

You have been asked to assess the progress of the operational plan in achieving profit and to ensure that targets for productivity are being met for your department OR a case study, as discussed with your trainer. By reviewing your Operational Plan and consulting with relevant stakeholders:
