Task 2

1. Choose four images from the table you created in task 1, selecting a mix of contemporary and historical designers.
2. Produce a collage on an A3 board using these four images. Add annotations for each image to discuss each example and compare how the designers communicate their work. For example, do they produce a rough sketch with very minimal shading and colour to show an idea for a design, or do they create a 3D perspective drawing with very realistic shading and rendering in a very detailed design?
3. Choose one contemporary designer's work, using images and annotations on your A3 board, and critically analyse how the communication technique they used reflects the design context.
4. Scan or photograph your collage board and save the document as a PDF.

Tips:

To critically analyse how communication techniques reflect the context of a design, you can consider the following questions: How is the use of the space realized within the drawing? Is the context immediately clear? If so, how is this reflected in the technique used?

Remember to consider the overall presentation of your A3 board. If you are putting the board together by hand, ensure that the text is clearly legible and the board is photographed well.
