The town of Mallacoota in East Gippsland was devastated by one of the most severe bushfiresin2019-2020.Initsaftermath,thecommunityofMallacootadecidedtotakeonthe responsibility of rebuilding the town. Apply Jim Ifes theories outlined in the pre-seminar activities to weeks 2-11 to the three-partABC documentary of The Peoples Republic ofMallacoota(ABC 2020).
Drawingontheliterature,coursereadingsandthecontentyouhavecoveredinthis
course,applyyourknowledgetothecommunitydevelopmentasundertakeninMallacoota,in terms of the following:
- Theoreticalframeworksused(orshouldhavebeenused)incommunitydevelopment and community activism.

- Howtheoryandpracticeapproachesarelinkedtosocialchange(oralackthereof).
