Research topic: Hospital standards (implementation) for meeting accreditation in developing countries: lessons and challenges
Postgraduate Dissertation (Word count 6,000- 8,000 words (+/- 10%)
Dissertation is required to be Secondary research. The main methodology in medical secondary research is systematic review, usually using post-analytical statistical techniques, Secondary research can come either from internal or external sources . Secondary research is carried out by gathering and evaluating information already collected from previous primary research. An important criterion for using data collected in other research is to know and understand the limitations that may arise.
Research Proposal (2500 words)
Prior to the submission of the dissertation, you will need to submit a research proposal. The research proposal must be submitted at the end of week 1 and will not carry any mark weighing. However, the research proposal is compulsory, and students are not allowed to proceed with the dissertation without approval of their research proposal by the Tutor.
Research proposal should includes three chapters of the dissertation (introduction, review of literature and methodology) and bibliography. With the research proposal, the student defines the research problem, the nature and importance of the study, the theoretical framework, the existing literature, the methodology of the problem, the analysis and the way the data will be collected
Abstract (250 words)
Summary page of up to 250 words (one page), which refers to the topic, methods and general conclusions of the study. It is recommended that the abstract follow the structure of the work.
