ASSIGNMENT ONE - (Learning Outcome 1,2 & 3)
Imagine that you work for a business called London City Skates and that London City Skates is launching a limited-edition T-shirt collection.
As the Media and Marketing employee, youve been asked to create a marketing campaign to promote and advertise these limited-edition T-Shirts.
To do this successfully, you must complete all of the tasks below:
Task 1: Creative Ideas Exploration, Experimentation and Development
Create either a physical sketchbook or a digital portfolio and develop some simple creative ideas for marketing and promoting these limited-edition T-shirts.
Your ideas should fill between 15 and 20 pages in the sketchbook or digital portfolio.
Guidance on how to achieve this
* Add some of your sketches or drawings, photos, magazine pictures and even comments from artists and designers who inspire you and influence your thoughts about this task.
* Add images and advertisements from other T-shirt brands to show how they market and promote their products.
* Experiment with textures, layering, shapes
* Draw or create 3 mood boards based on
- a) Skate / Streetwear brands.
- b) Skate / Streetwear Websites / Social Media sites.
- c) The Styling & Photography techniques that these brands use.
Write short comments in your sketchbook/portfolio explaining your inspirations, difficulties, problems, and successes during this process.
Task 2: Final Design of your Ideas (in the future we will often call ideas, concepts)
In your Sketchbook or Portfolio, you will now
- Create a final physical or digital Mood Board in which you explore the colours, materials, fabrics, textures and visual styles you wish to use in your marketing and promotion campaign.
Develop up to 3 layouts which show different ways of presenting your ideas.
- Based on the ideas and research you have already worked on, you must now create your final social media marketing product. This could be an Instagram page, a digital poster, a YouTube video, a post on 'X', or something similar.
(in the future we will often call marketing products, marketing assets.)
- Now you need to create a Word Wall made up of words, notes and short comments on one side of A4 paper or a single sheet in Word.doc, that captures your thoughts, experiences, ideas, feelings and key phrases from this Assignment.
