As a data privacy and governance consultant for your chosen company, you are tasked with developing a comprehensive data privacy strategy. The company requires you to:
- Propose an ethical and compliant data collection plan that aligns with privacy
- Create an Incident Response and Recovery Plan for dealing with data breaches, ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR.
In your report, you must balance the company's goals of innovation and personalization with the ethical obligation to protect sensitive user data. Additionally, you need to assess how the company can maintain data accuracy and service quality while using decentralized technologies like federated learning.
Part A: Ethical Data Collection Plan (550 words 15 marks)
Use generative AI to develop an initial/draft plan for ethically collecting data for your chosen company, focusing on the following areas. Update this initial plan using your thinking and knowledge and refer to concepts taught in class to reflect the specificity of your companys operations.
You must clearly outline your contributions over Generative AI responses with a different coloured font.

Imagine there was a data breach in your chosen company. Use generative AI to create an initial/draft Incident Response and Recovery Plan that outlines the actions a company should take in the event of a data breach.
Update this initial plan using your thinking and knowledge and refer to concepts taught in class to reflect the specificity of your companys operations.
You must clearly outline your contributions over Generative AI responses.
- Outline a step-by-step incident response plan, including internal and external notifications, containment strategies, and damage assessment.
- Discuss how to communicate the breach to stakeholders, including customers, employees, and regulators, while maintaining transparency and trust.

Use your own queries in any Generative AI tool to generate the initial drafts for your chosen company. How to write the perfect ChatGPT prompt and become a Prompt writer Include the initial/draft version together with your QUERIES. Edit the draft plans by using the review and new comment functions in Microsoft Word based on your knowledge and include (final version). Include a disclaimer stating that this plan was produced by you and generative AI. Acknowledge sections written by AI technology based on the following policy. |
References and structure (7 Marks) |
Include a minimum of five original references. Use the Harvard referencing style with in-text citations to your references. Use appropriate headings and paragraphs. If the marker has evidence that the student has misrepresented someone elses work by not referencing it appropriately they can deduct an additional 4-6 marks. |
