Purpose: This assessment is a group project addressing learning outcomes c, d and e.
Value: Group work 20%; Individual contribution 10%
Due Date: Week 11
Submission: Submit the completed report on Moodle. Students need to submit an individual report consist of a reflection journal and a weekly activity log.
This assessment will be done in groups of three (3) students. Students in each group will work to design and develop AWS security solution for a company that wants to migrate to the cloud. Students are required to find a case study about some company and describe the motivations to migrate their applications and data to the cloud. However, there are some security challenges due to data security and privacy. Students are required to introduce the company business functions, explain about companys data and applications and setup the cloud solutions using AWS security services (e.g. firewalls, security groups, IAM, encryption, etc.) to address the security challenges.
The case study of the project must be finalised in week 5 by each group.
Each group must write a technical report of 1500 words about the security solution. Each group also needs to present their project. Each presentation will be 10 minutes long, including questions and answers. Each of the group members will present their achievements and outcomes. The presentations will be in week 12.
Each group member is required to fill up the individual contribution weekly form starting from week 5 to highlight the individual contribution.
The structure of the report should be as follows:
- A cover page with your team details and the title of your project
- An abstract or executive summary (one page)
- Table of contents
- Problem description
- Cloud services used
- Security and Privacy challenges
- Detailed description of the security solution using AWS services)
- Conclusion, future work, plans for extension
- Appendices as necessar
The structure of the individual report should be as follows:
- Individual reflection journal on group project collaborations, problems, and lessons learnt (5 marks)
- Weekly activity log must include the activities for the week 5 - Week11 (5 marks)
