Assignment overviewThis assignment is designed to enable you to analyse and integrate the key behavioural theories explored in the unit in response to one of two quotes. This essay allows you to deepen your understanding of learning behaviour theory and to analyse and understand how it might be applied to behaviour in the education setting. In particular, you need to differentiate behaviours displayed by children in learning environments and formulate reasons for these behaviours using behaviour theories with consideration to the principles, policies and practices used for establishing and maintaining a productive learning environment.

Quote 2

Early childhood teachers are usually clear of their work with children while they construct understandings of their world. However, when children behave in ways that upset us, we tend to do things to them, by delivering rewards and punishments. In other words, our practices for responding to childrens thoughtless behaviours are incompatible with our teaching practices and beliefs.
