Creative Art work Explanation
Creative works provide students with an opportunity to express strong discipline-based knowledge and skills, creative expertise, learning mindset and critical capabilities for the future world of work. This form of assessment task enables students to demonstrate the development of complex skills to create and test ideas, shape inquiry and to critically evaluate and reflect on their synthesis of understanding. Creative work assessments enable students to be significant producers and informed consumers of culture. Generally, creative works enable a demonstration of understanding of artmaking or performing or writing as a practice to represent ideas and interests through interpretation of subject matter and use of expressive forms such as: Creative Artwork Drawing, painting, photo media, printmaking, textiles and fibre, digital and graphic designs, sculpture, ceramics Creative Performance Music, dance, movement, drama, theatre, movie Creative Writing Poetry, stories, plays, movie and television scripts, songs, speeches, memoirs Preparing a Creative Work – The Creative Process The creative process is the evolution of an idea into its final form through a progression of thoughts and actions. The creative process involves critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Generally, there are five steps to bring ideas to realisation. As you embark on your own creative process, unleash your mind, and let your ideas grow through the five stages of creativity. 1. Preparation: This first stage involves prep work and idea generation. This is when you gather materials and conduct research that could spark an interesting idea. Brainstorming this will help you consider all possible approaches to building out your idea. 2. Incubation: When you have finished actively thinking about your idea, the second stage is where you let it go. Part of creative thinking is taking a step away from your idea before you sit down to flesh it out. During this time, your creative work is incubating in your mind. 3. Illumination/Insight: This stage is when all of the material you have gathered comes together to present the solution to your problem. In this stage, the answer to your creative quest strikes you. 4. Evaluation: During this stage, you need to consider the validity of your idea. Reflect on your initial concept or problem to see if your solution aligns with your initial vision. 5. Verification: This is the final stage of the creative process. It is when the hard work happens. Now, you finalise your design, bring your idea to life and share it with the world. Teacher Note
It is not an experience for children to complete. This is your creative artwork completed by you.It is a culmination of your understanding of sustainability. It is you synthesising all you have learned this trimester about early childhood education for sustainability. It is to convey your understanding of child agency and engagement of young children as change agents. It is about the creative process and it can be any of the following forms:Drawing, painting, photo media, printmaking, textiles and fibre, digital andgraphic designs, sculpture, ceramics, collage, mosaicWe hope this clarifies any confusions for you all. When you read each of the support sheets and complete one task at a time, then that may remove some of the pressure you are placing upon yourselves. When you read the task outline and complete what is written as the task. You do not need to add any extra to what is already written as the assessment. We would suggest that you need to take time to map out what you might do. Go back over readings. Take the time to brainstorm and incubate your ideas. We would suggest that you read through the rubric. That is what we mark against. That is what we are looking for.We understand that you are feeling the end of trimester crunch and it is more important than ever that you manage your time wisely. You need to take those breaks away from the computer to give your brain and mind time to reenergise.Mindset is everything. If your mindset is fixed and you focus on what your assessment should be, that can also put a lot of pressure on you. If your mindset looks at this assessment as a celebration of your learning, the growth you have made throughout the trimester and the what your assessment could be, perhaps you might surprise yourself and what you can achieve.
