General Instructions: You are to answer the four (4) parts of this assessment- A to D. There are no word limits for questions unless a particular question stipulates this. Once all questions have been answered in this one document and you are satisfied with the responses, the assessment is to be uploaded to Connect as one document for submission to gather feedback from the assessor. If your 2nd submission is unsatisfactory (U), or you fail to submit a 2nd attempt, you will receive an overall unsatisfactory result for this assessment task. This assessment piece is theory based. Students will find content in their learner guide to assist in answering the questions and may at times be required to conduct their own research. Students will receive feedback on their original submissions and can have a second submission if deemed necessary as per the TAFE Queensland Student Rules. There are many films and documentaries depicting true events in Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history. - Complete a film review from the documentary listed above by using the following points to guide your response: (suggested word count is approx. 300words to ensure all points are covered)

- Write an online article in your own words (Approx. 250words) on an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander historical event. To assist with the creation of your article you are to access the History timeline in your learning resources and may also conduct your own research ensuring you use credible resources.
Include the following points in your online article:
- The current date and a title
- Introduction paragraph- Select a year in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander history and identify the significant event that occurred in that year
- Middle paragraph - Report on that event including associated facts you have researched
- Ending paragraph - Report on the significant effects on the culture today
- Search and insert a relevant photograph or picture illustrating your article
- Reference your sources at the bottom of your newspaper article and sign off with your name (ensure your sources are credible)

Part D Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of learning
- Aboriginal perspectives are not found in Aboriginal content, but Aboriginal processes 8AboriginalWays of Learning.
The 8 ways is a culturally safe starting point for educators to begin engaging with Aboriginal knowledge and cross-cultural dialog in the community. A focus can remain on core curriculum content while embedding Aboriginal perspectives in every learning experience.
