Aim: The aim of this assessment is to allow students to design a research communication strategy for an existing research study.
Task Description: Students are asked to choose one research project from the list below:

Using the research project selected above, students are asked to design a research communication strategy using one of the approaches listed below:
A policy brief suitable for policy makers.
A media piece for The Conversation suitable for the general public.
A poster to report research findings at an academic conference.
Students will need to carefully consider who the intended audience is for their chosen communication approach and to appropriately shape the communication of the selected
research study based on this audience. Students will need to consider aspects such as the level of detail included, the type of language used, and visual elements such as headings, subheadings, and images as these aspects will vary according to the intended audience of the approach selected. Please use APA (or similar) referencing style (https://guides.library.uq.edu.au/referencing/apa7).
Submission, Extensions and Late Penalties
Please submit electronically through TurnItIn on the course Blackboard site. DO NOT SUBMIT A HARD COPY. Please include the following on the front page of your submission and sign your name underneath:

The School office hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm. Please be aware that there is a minimum processing time of 2 working days for all extension requests. If you submit your request on the due date of the assessment item, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a response by the assessment deadline. Where possible, please factor this in when submitting your extension application.
Late submissions will attract a penalty of 10% of the available marks per day (weekend counts for 3 days) after the original assessment deadline until the mark becomes 0%. Assessment more than 10 days late will receive a mark of zero for non-submission.
