Assessment Task (what you are required to do)
In relation to a named Indian public service organisation of your choosing, outline within 2,000 words the potential benefits and obstacles to service integration. You will prepare this in the form of a Business Report, properly laid out, pages numbered, and a contents sheet. You must use USW style Harvard references, and all diagrams must be placed in any appendices. The Business Report you write should be addressed to the board of management of the named organisation; and it must include recommendations, and a conclusion.
Presentation and formatting of the report accounts for 10% of the marks awarded. The word count applies to the main body of the Business Report only.
Note: By public service organisation we refer to a legal entity such as
a public sector body e.g., a municipal health clinic or a public health laboratory;
a charity or voluntary sector body providing public services e.g., a food bank or a research body; or
a private company, which provides public services e.g., a care home or a hospital or prison service etc.
Marking Criteria:
* This assignment will be marked out of 100;
* This assignment contributes to 50% of the total module marks
Assessment Criteria to be applied1.Analysis of theory (this includes the understanding and use of theory. Do not provide long descriptions of theory but instead summarise/ synthesise it and use the theory to build sound arguments). (approx. 45%)
2.Application of theory to practice (provide a good range of examples from your chosen organisation to illustrate/ reflect on the theoretical issues). (approx. 25%)
3.Clarity and persuasiveness of argument (approx. 10%)
4.Range of sources used (approx. 10%)
5.Presentation (Report Format, grammar, spelling, etc) (approx. 10%)
Word Length: 2,000 words, contribution to overall mark = 50%
You need to keep within the word limit. Assignments which depart by more/less than 10% of the word length will be subject to an additional penalty of 10% reduction in all marks awarded.

Learning Outcomes to be assessed:
Critically appraise the recent approaches to managing and improving performance in the named public service.In this respect, your report must deal with what has happened or what is actually happening.
Apply these approaches to a named public service organisation.

Assessment Task (what you are required to do)
Produce a poster (size A2 landscape mandatory) about one of the following subject areas in a named Indian public service organisation of your choice:
Service improvement;
Partnerships; or
Service delivery.
The poster should critically analyse either:
A problem;
A proposed solution; or
A recent change or innovation.
Notes:
The poster should help the reader to understand i) the subject area, for example, why the partnership should matter; ii) the problem, solution or innovation; and iii) come to a conclusion.
Your poster should be attractive, but also needs to include academic evidence and citations, which need to be referenced. Your ability to demonstrate critical thinking is important.
Your poster can be printed, hand made or handmade with printed materials. Turn this into a pdf file (e.g. by photographing and saving as a pdf). The file should be submitted through Learning Tool (LTI) link on BB, ONLY as a pdf file.
Save your pdf file with a file name ONLY in the format: [module#_yourstudent#_poster_date]. Failure to adopt this style will lose you marks in the assessment.
Your submission should include a list of Harvard references (this may be included either on the poster OR as a second pdf sheet merged within one single file). Use only the USW listed styles of Harvard references. Marks will be lost at assessment for failure to adopt the USW protocol format.
