Now we are going to discuss the binary one more time I've already discuss this with you and I hope you had the opportunity to own the material on views or instruction related to the final exam or people any questions on any of the topics they are discussing far then we will finish for the day. Okay, so now us about the exam. They've gone through the instructions one more time and feel free to ask me any questions that you may have. Now as I mentioned earlier, there are three actions in the final, final exam paper Quality Management Risk Management and Performance planning. So there are three parts and each part will have a question and there will be a total of six questions. Now, each question is worth 20 marks and we'll have a Part A and Part B. To answer both parts. Under the logs for each part will be shown in your exam paper so that you will know how many marks is worth for each question. Now, why is that important? Now let us say you have two hours okay exam actually will have two hours 15 minutes and Dr. Graham will send an email to everyone if you have not already done so. giving instructions about the final exam what time it will start and so already you know the timetable for the day. But for whatever it is worse, Dr. Prem normally sends another email to everyone to remind you so then I'll see you about two hours. So you had 120 minutes. So you didn't say the exam is 100 marks. So if you divide 120 by 100 marks, it comes to 1.2 FurMark. For each question is worth 20 marks. So roughly 1.2 multiplied by 20 is 24. So that means you should not spend more than 24 minutes per question. So my advice to students is make sure you don't spend more than 20 minutes per question. So within that question, there are two parts and each part is worth 10 marks. And Mark spent 10 minutes or one hour a day meeting Sofia. Right. So that's the idea. So the reason is that some students they like a question, and they write and write and write and write and write and they spend about 40 minutes on that question. And the maximum you can get these 20 marks. Just because you wrote for 45 minutes doesn't mean somebody's going to give you more marks. So the thing is, eventually they end up answer only about three questions. And they're going to answer five questions. So you want to maximize your marks. You must answer all five questions. That's why I say allocating 20 minutes per question is very important. Now my advice to you is very simple. I'll come back to that in a minute. Because online it's very easy. I suppose you finish 20 minutes, stop and then move on to another question. Answer that and then when you have 2020 20 value for five another 20 minutes to go. Go back to the question do I want to write a little bit more and then add it on. So it becomes very easy to do that in our online exam. But if it is a hardcopy, it becomes sometimes difficult to insert new information unless you need some space before you go to the next question. So do not waste time unnecessarily.

You got to be very precise, very clear. So say for example, now just a short while ago when we are talking about suppliers. Now you have already got the box office assignment. The second assignment marks will be available on Thursday morning at 6am on the first of September. So you got 70 And you multiply by four you'll get eight. Now y'all got 45 for these to me, so again 6373. Now one thing that we always do is if you're on the borderline of a pass reading or distinction or a distinction, like if you have 84 or 74 We won't leave you there. We'll review and see if we can increase the marks or Bucha to a distinction or distinction. But that's a decision that Graham and I take together. So there are nine articles that you need to look at. Out of these nine. There will be six in the exam. as I mentioned all the lecture slides are usually the information from the lecture slides will be in part A. Of the question the part we will be for the journal. Thank you. Got our own notes because you can have your own notes you can find one remember one thing I would strongly discourage students from going to the Internet. In some words, getting an answer and pasting Turnitin will show that you have a high similarity index and it will show that it is from various other internet sources. Don't waste your time trying to do too much in text referencing. Focus on the answer and you have to absolutely use it use. You don't have to write every single thing say the article said. He said this and then you're just wasting time for us to use in text referencing at the end of the answer. You have to give the complete reference. You got to list all the references that you ended up wasting time. So basically is to understand and write in your own words. And if needed second point or something. But I think some places I read the questions are very straightforward. Asking what you think. Why did they say that? What did they what happened? That kind of stuff. So it doesn't you don't have to write a big essay now the other question that students often ask me should be answers we is a type. It's entirely up to you. If you want to write an essay format, go ahead. If you want to write in bullet points, go ahead. But make sure that if you want to write bullet points each bullet point must be sufficiently clear. are answering from the article what are the sources of to answer a Part A so the answer for this question is we have to go back to the slides the lecture slides for each group. So what you need to do is you can refer to the slides. Fine. You don't have to necessarily you only what is there in the slide. So by example, by ask some questions on page one. You can of course go to the slides. But we also looked at two journal articles. One on the Indian automotive industry which is not included in the exam, and the other one is on the Portuguese internal benchmarking study. So in those two articles also, the authors have talked about the different types of benchmarking. So you can always go to the summaries and get ideas and include that also in the in the answer to party on a doesn't mean you have to only strictly write what is there in the slides. Because the slides are just the basic idea. And in the journal articles we expand upon so if you want to include the journal articles, feel free to do that.

And so if there is a question saying, what are the different types of benchmark you can use the information from the slides and the body of the slides, we only have internal benchmarking, competitive benchmarking, functional benchmarking and generic benchmark.
