2. Background

As a supply chain student, I am aware how the human life has affected due to Covid 19. And a collapse in the Supply chain sector has played a major role. Because of the lockdown, the whole supply chain got broken and people were struggling even to fulfil their basic needs. The economy of the country also did go down due to Covid 19. And finally in the end of pandemic, I am keen to know how the supply chain can be boosted and I would mainly like to concentrate on the manufacturing sector as Green Supply Chain Management is the core portion of my project.

3. Aim & Objectives

Aim: Developing a supply chain design for the manufacturing sector with sustainable processes which will be environment friendly.

Objectives:

A critical study about the Covid 19 totally disrupted the supply chain. To build a new structure to the supply chain, it is vital to develop and implement innovative and a simplified modern supply chain design which will help is saving the cost of the manufacturing enterprises without compromising with the quality of the product. But mainly the research gap will how the manufacturing companies changed the gear after the suffering they had due to Covid 19. How the technology can be used to its maximum for the best outputs and how the integrated supply chain processes will minimise the harm to environment due to the production.

4. Work programme

Green Supply Management can be referred as an integrated sustainable environmental process into the traditional supply chain. This means, the removal of traditional approaches to the supply chain and develop modern supply chain structure which will be environment friendly which will eventually eliminate wastages and avoid delay in the processes. Some of the major things I would like to highlight is using integrated supply chain process in product design, sourcing of materials and their selection, manufacturing, and production etc. I prefer using an inductive research approach to my work where I will be able to give my own opinion with the help of my findings. Primary and secondary data will be used, and the results of the data collected will be critically analysed and the further recommendations will be made depending on the results. When coming on to the research gap, I will work on the things such as the manufacturing units could switch to biofuels, recycled materials into the manufacturing process and with a minimal energy use.
After the covid 19, there is a huge gap between the supply of raw materials and the process of making into a finished product. That gap will be covered by implementing modern strategies into supply chain where the distribution should get back onto track with the supply chain using software. 

5. Deliverables

Primarily, how the manufacturing sector got out of the pandemic and how the supply chain got affected will be addressed. But the strategies planning to be implemented will be environmentally friendly and cost friendly. Advanced technology will speed up the manufacturing process and improve the quality of the product. In my opinion, this will close the gap created in supply chain due to covid 19.

6. Resources

The data will be collected with both primary and secondary method. Survey questionnaire would be the preferred primary data and literature reviews and other credible internet sources will be used as secondary data method. Majority of data is to be collected from the University library and recommendations will be made with the help of personal findings.

7. Beneficiaries

As a supply chain professional, I aspire to build my career in this sector and this dissertation will help me get a good exposure in this sector and will help me in long term in decision making and problem solving. Survey questionnaire will help in taking the opinion of experts and professionals in the field of supply chain will help me develop my skills.

8. Risks/Hazards

There is a medium risk hazard in this work as I see overuse of laptop will lead in causing certain health issues such as headache. But with proper and regular intervals in between, the risk can be minimised, and the work will be completed successfully.
