Question:
Flight booking systems are crucial for travellers worldwide, offering a convenient way to search for and purchase airline tickets. As these systems are widely used, it is essential to ensure that they provide a seamless, accessible, and satisfying user experience. The report should consider applying Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles to identify and address specific issues within an existing flight booking system. Propose innovative solutions to improve user experience by integrating industry best practices and the latest HCI research.
Objective:
Apply principles of Human-Computer Interaction to enhance the user experienceof an flight booking system. You may either choose mobile or web system.
Create a report based on the following task. You are encouraged to be inventive and creative. You are also urged to examine the actual product, which is available on any platform. Paper or journal references should be properly cited in the report

Task1:ProductBackground(20%)
Write a report that provides an overview of the product, aim, problem statement, and target audience for designing user-centricapps based on HCI principles. The report should outline the product and its importance in the market and should include an analysis of existing application. Below are some criteria that you need to consider.
ProductInformation
ProductBackground&ProblemStatement
Conductsurveys/interviewstounderstandissuesandpreferences
CompetitorAnalysis(2Competitors):
Analysethe HCI for similar interfaces of popular mobileIdentify innovative features, design elements, and best practices that contribute to a positive user experience.
TargetUser(Max2personas):
Developuserpersonasthataccuratelyreflectarangeoftarget
Task2:ProductPerspective&HeuristicEvaluation(30%)
Performaheuristicevaluationofthecurrentmobilebankingappinterface.Identifyusabilityviolationsbased on established heuristics and suggest improvements. (Include severity ranking & easy to fix method)
This will be done on week 6-7 in class. Each group will be given time to evaluate other groups
Task3:Proposeadesignsolution:WireframingandPrototyping(20%)/Discussionandoutcome ( 10%)
ProposeFIVE (5)design solutions for your product based on the information that has been gathered and identified. Then, develop a wireframe for the redesigned interface, considering the feedback from user research and heuristic evaluation. Create a clickable prototype using a tool of your choice to demonstrate key interactions.
Discuss the effectiveness of your design solutions, reflecting on how they address the identified issues and meet user needs. Provide a summary of the outcomes, highlighting any challenges faced and how they were resolved.
Presentation:Week11(10%):
Present the finalised design solutions, emphasizing the rationale behind each choice. Walk through the wireframe and clickable prototype, demonstrating the proposed improvements. Discuss how the feedback from user research and heuristic evaluation informed the design decisions. Be prepared for questions and feedback from the audience.
