Focus on the design and construction of off-site housing specifically block of flats and apartments.
Aim was to examine the logistics supply chain management (LSCM) to proposed a method for improvement and suggest and improvement plan.

Rich picture and root definition to explore problem situation (offsite-construction of flats)

BPNM to examine overall process and highlight problem area (LSCM)

Dataflow diagram to interrogate problem area

Ishikawa diagram to interrogate causes and target areas for improvement

BPNM diagram to show overall process after suggested improvements

Implementation of BEP process

Process analysis of the process of implementing a BEP (BIM execution plan)

Aim was to explore the process of developing a BEP and identify some of the problems affecting the efficient implementation of BIM process

Initially used generic mind mapping techniques to explore problem area and narrow down focus.

The subsequent BPNM diagrams unpack and interrogate different aspects of this process, specifically the design and authoring process.

Summary

Both good examples. The first being very good.

The use of the diagrams was cumulative and informed and supported the content of the reports.

Proposed changes do not need to be huge in scope. A minor change but well justified and diagrammed is just as, if not more, compelling.
