The individual reflection report should be limited to 1000 words and be a retrospective analysis of the experience of teamwork and learning in the module. Oxford VR is a startup which develops virtual reality software designed to be used in the treatment of mental health issues. Since being founded in 2016, the company has raised an impressive 14m through three funding rounds. Its latest round, in February last year, totalled 9m at a pre-money valuation of 11m. Run by a team of clinical experts and experienced industry professionals, Oxford VR is at the forefront of mental health technology. Its products, which are more cost-effective and efficient than traditional treatments for mental illness, are targeted at both consumers and the public sector.

As well as a fear of heights treatment, the company is currently developing programmes to use Artificial intelligence (AI) for depression and mental disorders treatment, including bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder and schizophrenia. Since AI has not been widely used in medical science so far, they are doubtful about the success of their investment.

As a consultant, you are approached by this company and they want your consultation in the following cases:

First, they want to know if it is justifiable to invest in developing programmes related to the use of AI for treating bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and schizophrenia. Specifically, they want to know if such an investment will be financially profitable or now. They want a Yes or No to this question and the reason for your answer.

Second, they want you to rate the chance of their success with either of the following three measures: nearly impossible (the chance of success is negligible), possible but risky (the chance of success is approximately 50%), likely (there is a good chance of success but it is not guaranteed), highly likely (there is a high chance of success). (NOTE: If the answer to the first question is NO, then the answer to the second question should be either nearly impossible or possible but risky. If the answer to the first question is Yes, then the answer to the second question should be either likely or highly likely.

2- Group Presentation

In another case, you are approached by the Oxford VR representative. Although they achieved good growth in recent years, they feel there is currently resistance in medical science to letting new AI technology be used in clinical applications. They need your consultation in the following cases:

First, they want to know whether their impression of the resistance of medical doctors and clinics to the new AI technologies is correct or not. They want a Yes or NO to this question and the reason for your answer.

Second, they also want to know how they can convince medical doctors and clinics to accept AI products readily. They want you to propose some practical methods to achieve this aim.
