Introduction

The internal consequences of World War 2 resulted in the mass killing and displacement of thousands of Jews from the country. During the war 3.6 million German homes were destroyed and around 7 million people became homeless (Aph 2022). Around 40,000 German soldiers died in the war and the wounded people covered around 80,000. As for the external consequences, the Soviet Zone had become a part of the German Democratic Republic. Apart from that Germany had to pay a large amount of money in reparation that went to the United Kingdom as well as France. The government of Australia paid all the money that was required by the immigrants to reach Australia. However, upon reaching the country they had to stay for a minimum of two years and they had to work as laborers and whatever the post the government of Australia would provide to them.  The government of Australia has opened up their country for the immigrants that were based on the motto of ‘populate or perish’ that was established due to the consequences of the Second World War (Migrationtranslators 2022).  This was encouraged as Australian government saw this opportunity to increase their defense and development that can be done with the help of excess people.

Conclusion

It can be concluded that the World War 2 had created many negative impact on the people as well as the economic and social condition in Australia. The extinction that the Jews faced forced them to migrate to other countries like Australia. The infrastructure of Germany had collapsed and the continuation famines had decreased the food and the medical supply and resulted in the death of the people. The Australian policy for the immigrants was that they had to live in the country for a limited period of time and had to do whatever job that the country and the government provided. More than 150,000 German people migrated to Australia under the immigration scheme that was started by the country. The migration resulted in the formation of the Australian population by 4%. The immigration resulted in the growth of the total population by adding more than 1.2 million people and resulted in the increase in demand for food, clothing and housing and resulted in the overall expansion and growth of the cities in Australia. The diversity among the people increased as there was inclusion of people from several cultures and background. This influenced the patterns of settlement as well as improved the economic conditions of the country.
