Literacy Intervention Report

Scope of intervention

• Student name and age: Use a pseudonym negotiated with the learner and chronological age to the month at the beginning of the intervention
• Teacher/tutor name and role: The design and implementation of this intervention in literacy is part of the requirements for EDSP385 Literacy Difficulties in the Regular Classroom
• Negotiated focus:Define what the student is to learn and how s/he would use that learning in class or in other activities.
• Specific intended learning outcomes and context within which they are to be applied: Explicitly define what is to be learnt and how will you know when this has happened.
• ATRiUM capabilities: Describe any particular capabilities that may need emphasis and how you know that.
• Time: Specify length of intervention as well as timing and length of sessions.
• Place and space for the intervention: Explain where the intervention was carried out and describe the space.

Assessment

• Baseline assessment: Describe what the student can do at the beginning, and how you know that.
• Assessment for monitoring: Show how you monitored and recorded that information.
• Outcomes assessment: Present the assessment information that shows what knowledge or skills are evident after the intervention. Identify any changes in terms of capabilities that were identified at the beginning, or any unintended outcomes.
• Feedback processes: Explain how the learner was given feedback during the sessions and how the feedback affected the learner. Tell how you got feedback from the learner; what that feedback was and what impact it had on your intervention.
• Evaluation reflection: Draw some conclusions about how effective the intervention was (difference between baseline and outcomes assessment; observed capabilities) and which learning opportunities and teaching strategies were most effective. Identify aspects of implementation that supported or hindered the effectiveness of the intervention. Make a statement about what you learnt as the intervention professional, about intervention in this strand of literacy and about your skills and knowledge.
