Project Title: Face Registration and Recognition Framework for Healthcare Systems
1. Background and Rationale for the project
Identification of the right patient in healthcare organisations is very critical, particularly during drug administration and emergencies. This critical patient identification task can be made and convenient by using cutting-edge mobile and Al technologies. In curacy of Al-powered face detection and recognition capabilities has cly. The use of mobile devices within healthcare organisations are also increasing. This project proposes to build a framework for convenient patient registration and recognition in healthcare organisations.
2. Project goals and Objectives The aim of the project is to build a framework for face registration and recognition with two key objectives. Firstly, it should allow healthcare organisations to register new patients with face images. Secondly, the framework should allow the staff to identify any registered patient easily by using their mobile device camera.
3. Desired Outcomes/Deliverables
• A face registration application to register new patients with face images. The application should also capture some basic patient details such as first name, last name, date of birth etc.
• A face recognition mobile application to recognise a new face image captured using the app. The mobile application could be built either for iOS or Android platform.
4. Project Resources
• Project supervisor and guidelines. Development tools and platforms. Testing environments for both the face registration and recognition applications.
5. Add any other information you wish on the project It is proposed to divide the project between two groups:
Group 1: Face Registration Application
• Analyze image recognition algorithms and applications.
• Design and develop modules to extract information from images.
• Design and develop modules to convert extracted information into structured data.
• Create capabilities to store the processed data into a data repository in real time.
Group 2: Face recognition mobile application (Start with Android)
• Architectural design and Functional design.
• Non-functional design, such as performance & security, based on Android platform.
• Java Object analysis in order to produce a technical design.
• Pseudocode design based on available JAVA objects.
• Policy Integration in Design for smooth hosting of the app on Google Play Store.
