Overview
Assessment in MPM701A involves the preparation of two reports. This assignment brief pertains to the second report – Part B. Both reports are based on the same hypothetical case. Report Part A [which you need to complete before moving onto Report Part B] informs Report Part B. Upon receipt of your Part A assessment result and feedback you will be positioned to proceed with Report Part B.
Objective
You continue assuming the role of a BPM consultant and you will prepare the second part of a professional business report for your business client. The second part, Part B, pertains to this brief. Upon successfully completing this assignment you will have demonstrated that you can communicate clear, written advice to a business owner in relation to specific aspects of the business process management discipline. In providing advice to your client you will identify and take into account various perspectives and circumstances encompassing the business. Your advice will offer the business owner several reasons for adopting a business process management approach and it will contextually include:
- a clear explanation about what is meant by the development of a ‘business process architecture’ and the impacts that this might have on your client’s business
- diagrams exemplifying your interpretation of your client’s business from process solution [i.e. ‘To Be’] perspectives [e.g. BPMN; structure chart etc.]
- important process aspects that your client will need to take into account and/or be aware of if your proposed solution is pursued/implemented
- significant business considerations that might impact your client during redesign and implementation of your proposed solution
- commentary and examples pertaining to a phased approach that will equip the proposed process change with the best chance for effectiveness in your client’s organization
- details about preparations for, and the ways in which, the effectiveness of your proposed solution will be determined and reported post implementation
- clear and persuasive recommendations
Task
Your task is to prepare a business report for your client. For clarity, it is recommended that the main body of your report be structured using the following headings/sections.
