NBC2003 Commercial Building Report Writing

Work to do:  

Select and visit a commercial building such as an office building. Perform a thorough  study on the following building services systems: HVAC systems, cold and hot water  supply systems, electrical and lighting systems, and fire protection systems.  

Before entering the building, a photo of all group members should be taken in front of  the building. Then, include the photo in the cover page of your report.  

The report should include:  

1. Basic architectural information of the building, including building location, building  orientation, floor plan drawings, sectional drawings, gross floor area, and location and  space area of the central M/E room. 

2. Describe and identify the key features of the existing building services in the selected  building, including HVAC systems, cold and hot water supply systems, electrical and  lighting systems, and fire protection systems. 

3. Design and conduct an occupant satisfaction survey, including thermal comfort, IAQ,  acoustic and fire safety. The sample size should be larger than 10. Analyze the survey  results by simple statistical method. 

4. Identify the problems and provide suggestions to improve the existing building  services based on Point 2 and Point 3.
