Sparks Telco is a Tier 2 Telco that provides internet and data services to a metro area and has two (2) backbone links, Perth to Bunbury and Perth to Lancelin. Within the Perth Metro area, there is a metro fiber network which is made up of two (2) redundant fiber rings in a 1+1 configuration. This is the network that is used to deliver FTTx services to the different localities in Perth as shown on the Metro Network Topology Diagram. All the equipment is powered up using commercial power from Western Power. Concerns have been raised over the carbon footprint of this network and a resolution has been passed to minimise the networks carbon footprint and introduce sustainability and greener technology. As the Telecoms Technologist you have been tasked with spearheading this move to a more sustainable network with a lower carbon footprint. You must review the company’s network to evaluate the potential for the integration of sustainabilityEvaluate the Metro Network Topology Diagram and the Network Audit Data and use this information to prepare a Sustainability Briefing Report. Use the Network Sustainability Briefing Report Template, to complete your Sustainability Briefing Report that can be presented to management. Your report should include the following: · An evaluation of the different sections of the network (Access, Backbone and Core) to analyse how sustainability can be integrated. Make two (2) recommendations on how sustainability can be integrated into each network segment (Core network, Backbone and Access network). · Suitable technology solutions that can be applied to this network. Research and identify two (2) different and possible technology solutions for the whole network. · Gather power consumption data, from the Network Audit Data, that will be used for the energy audit at a later stage. State two (2) types of data that you have gathered from the Network Audit Data.
