This assignment aims to give you practice applying knowledge about planning schemes to ensure that you understand the material covered in the early weeks of the class and to establish the foundation for undertaking the Planning Report excise in Assignment 2.

You should select a property within a residential zone (the Residential Growth Zone, General Residential Zone or Neighbourhood Residential) within theCity of Moreland. (Select Within Coburg)

Your assignment should prepare a short commentary that:

Lists the relevant state, regional and local planning policies (from the Planning Policy Framework) that are most relevant to assessment of a proposed medium density housing proposal (i.e. townhouses or apartments) were one to be prepared for the site.

Write a one paragraph (maximum 300 words) summary of what, in your view, the planning framework says regarding development on the subject land. In particular, is this in your view a preferred location for intensified development based on the planning scheme? Can you describe roughly what sort of residential housing outcomes are expected?

Attach a Planning Property Report (generated through VicPlan) for the property to your assignment.
