It provides the vehicle through which you will demonstrate the breadth of your learning by applying your community development knowledge and critical analytical skills to a specific community development project.
On completion of this analysis, you should feel confident that, having understood, applied, and evaluated principles, processes, roles, and skills used to work with communities, you are equipped to begin supported practice.
By completing this assessment, you would be meeting the following course objectives:
CO1. Demonstrate understandings of community work and the contested notions of community in the context of human service work
CO2. Demonstrate understandings of community work processes within a human rights and social justice framework.
CO3. Identify and evaluate the various models of community work and examine their basic features and applicability in various settings
CO4. Identify and apply relevant strategies for working collaboratively with community members on issues pertinent to diverse communities
Assessment criteria
- Critically describes the nature of the community that the project interfaces with and critically evaluates the community development approach that the project utilises.
- Applies relevant community development theories and models to working with this community.
- Provides clear evidence of extensive reading and research, demonstrates understanding of course material, employs appropriate referencing conventions. Demonstrates clarity in presenting the issues and arguments.
- Employs appropriate use of language conventions such as grammar, spelling and punctuation
