Vocational scenario
In the United Kingdom, retail companies such as Tesco, Asda, and Sainsbury, operating in various store formats, expanded and dominated the UK retail market share.
Later on, these retail companies faced a challenging retail environment in the UK due to the economic downturn sparked by Brexit. These, coupled with rising oil prices, caused customers to reduce spending on non-essential items and opt for cheaper alternatives. Customers criticized big retailers for empty shelves and poor service during that time, while competitors improved stores and product offerings, meeting the demands of customers seeking quality and value for money.
In addition, the business environment significantly impacted the organizational structure of the retail industry in the UK. Several factors, such as economic conditions, technological advancements, and consumer behavior, influenced how retailers structured their organizations.
