Background
Businesses around the world need to analyse data to track and anticipate customers' needs and optimise the production of goods and services. People want everything now and customised, so manufacturers and providers need to be agile, lean, and sustainable; maximising quality at the lowest cost possible while being fast in supplying demands.
Digital technologies will continue to disrupt everything, New businesses will thrive while some will die off. We all have witnessed the importance and advantages of embracing disruptive technologies. Technology is often a vital part of the catalyst towards more opportunities and productivity, but we must work on the people, organisation, leadership, governance, policy and strategy to make digital transformation happens. Digital innovation is at the intersection between the viability (business), feasibility (technology), and desirability (human factor). A successful digital transformation will lead to empowered employees, engaged customers, transformed products and optimised operations.
Task
Digital transformation initiative includes improving and transforming the organisations internal processes and culture, or offering new products and services to new/existing customers.
Select an inspiring case study of a successful digital transformation. You are required to research the literature and write an annotated bibliography for this selected case study
This bibliography will provide insights into the justification of the digital transformation (e.g., solving challenges and capturing opportunities) and the management strategies.
Your annotated bibliography should identify current thinking on digital systems in organisations. You will then use this information to guide your thinking and reporting for the subsequent assessments .
Format:
Brief introduction (100 words)
State your digital transformation case study - use active words to explain your goals. Your proposed case study should extend (and reflect/learn) from an existing case study available in the literature.
Discuss your literature search approach (100 words)
Search keywords
Criteria for inclusion ("how and why did you select the annotated literature?")
Annotations of three (3) articles, with at least one scientific journal paper (150 words for each article)Your annotations must include:
The full bibliographic citation.
The author(s)' backgrounds (credentials)
The scope of contents
Outline the main arguments (e.g., what is the issue being addressed, why is it important, how the solution is implemented)
Identify any conclusions made by the author/s and what you can learn for your case study.
Discussionthat summarises and integrates the articles (250 words)You can use other references in addition to the 4 articles in this section. Your discussion should cover:
The key lessons learned on the challenges, strategies, and approaches of managing digital transformation that successfuly innovate a business.
Recommendations that link evidence to practice (100 words)
Based on lessons learning, findings, theories, and evidences you learned from the literature, what are your key recommendations for managing a successful digital transformation
