Essay Topic and Instructions
Write a review of approximately 2500 words (please note: range allowed without penalty is 2200 to 2800 words) based on systematic and explicit identification, evaluation and interpretation of existing bodies of work (valid, current peer reviewed journal articles) on “Inflammation and its effects in pathology” (i.e. the role inflammation plays in the development of specific pathology/ies).
You may select a specific pathology (illness) of your choice (i.e. asthma, MI, a specific cancer, Parkinson’s disease), to explore and expand the subject area.
However, your chosen topic must deal with a condition or several related conditions (how a whole body system is affected by inflammation) that are covered in the PSIO230 lecture notes.
Provide a review and an analytical assessment of the current literature on the selected topic. You are expected to use up to 20 references.
