Assessment description
In this assessment task you are to write a reflective essay on how data analytics can negatively impact specific groups in our community. You will be provided with several resources and a set of questions to help guide your writing.
Aims
The aim of this assessment is to demonstrate your understanding of how the actions you take as a data analyst can negatively impact on specific groups within the community.
By successfully completing this assessment task, you will demonstrate your achievement of these course objectives:
CO2. Identify the development phases of data analytics process and develop skills associated with them.
CO4: Describe how data analytics can impact on indigenous, cultural and diverse groups of people.

Instructions
You are to write a reflective piece of up to 700 words which addresses one (in-depth) or many (slightly covered) of the questions outlined below. You may use the questions as headings in your response. In your reflective piece, you are to use APA 7 referencing for your references. You can find more information on how to use APA referencing on the Study Resources page.
Choose at least two articles or websites to review. These articles must relate to the content of Week 2 -- Cultural Sensitivity in Data Analytics.
Review these suggested questions and use them as guides when you review the articles you have chosen.
Why is it important to collect data about specific groups?
How can data be used/misused to the benefit of particular groups?
What are the responsibilities of a data analyst in relation to cultural sensitivity?
How do we understand bias in data collection, and can it be harmful?
How has quantifying identity become problematic for Aboriginal people?
What is indigenous data sovereignty and how would it affect data analysis projects?
What are the Sins of Indigenous Statistics and how might these be better presented?
