Slide 7: Importance of supervisors in remote working
After reviewing different challenges and concerns of Freshcare in this transition, our team realises that managers' or supervisors' roles will be the key to enforcing employee engagement.
Since Freshcare employees often interact with their inline managers, it is also proven through different studies and other successful organisations in the market that Managers can
motivate their employees and guide them to tackle their problems. The managers should foster a growth mindset, opening the employees to new work opportunities.
To work remotely, A manager can bring a sense of belongingness and a proper communication method to improve employees' work conditions.
a manager can help to increase the employee's satisfaction and trust towards the organisation.
Slide 8: Recommendation of a Feedback and Review System
Developing suitable feedback and review are crucial for the healthy and sustainable growth of organisation, especially when working remotely.
This can boost engagement and increase retention and productivity.
Timely Feedback helps employees identify strengths and weaknesses, especially positive feedback from managers or colleagues motivates and improves commitment.
Appraisal reviews support continuous learning and remote adaptation, enhancing individual and organisational success.
During our interview, we noticed that Freshcare has not yet implied any formal and official feedback and review scheme, mostly based on the situations and the managers.
Therefore, we think that goal-based performance reviews and a peer review system will be suitable for FreshcareThe most important review scheme is goal-based, and the direct in-line manager will be the one to perform it. Performance assessment, evaluation of tasks, feedback and recognition of good work, also other feedback and discussion of improvements, identification of career development plans and learning needs. This system should be done quarterly and annually. However, the Peer review system is more informal when the team can receive anonymous insightful opinions from colleagues quarterly on how to improve general issues.
Freshcare Managers should also develop consistent weekly feedback for each team member and monthly reflections to see if they encounter any difficulties during work, which may miss out on the remote working style.
Slide 9: Recommendation of a Reward system
Rewards act as job resources, reducing burnout and isolation. There are various rewards or recognition systems like personalised appreciation notes, milestone celebrations, innovative and creativity awards and skill development opportunities, which can be used quarterly or when needed. Managers will be a great help in acknowledging individual contributions. By personalizing messages, or receiving carefully selected learning resources for professional development, Freshcare staff will feel appreciated even working from home and they want to make greater contribution.
